Sydney, October 22 – Record breaking Silver Slipper winner Amelia’s Dream is on the comeback trail according to reports from the stable of Gai Waterhouse.
A $250,000 purchase from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2007 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Amelia’s Dream is now back in light work as she approaches the end of her lengthy recovery program.
The Waterhouse team are more than pleased with the filly’s progress, as she undertakes a 40-week recuperation program at picturesque Muskoka Farm.
Amelia’s Dream has been enjoying some light trotting and cantering (picture courtesy Gai Waterhouse website) around the farm’s 2700m track, and more importantly is said to be completely sound and ‘a happy girl’, according to the stable’s website.
The filly was rated over the line when her Golden Slipper aspirations were cut short on March 15, when the filly pulled up lame after her explosive Silver Slipper win, sustaining a career and life-threatening sesamoid fracture.
