Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible produced an eye-catching debut two year-old winner at Bendigo on Sunday and had one of the top lots during the first session of the 2022 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Hafey was a hot favourite for the 1100m maiden and proved a class above for Craig Williams striding clear for a powerful three and three-quarter length win.
Hafey was a $525,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Coolmore draft for Rosemont Victorian Alliance / Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA) / David Redvers Bloodstock and was bred by Emaroo Bloodstock.
Hafey, a very impressive debut winner for @cmaherracing and the Victorian Alliance. He was a 525k purchase from the @CoolmoreAus draft at the 2021 @inglis_sales Easter Sale. This son of leading stallion I am Invincible looks to have a bright future! pic.twitter.com/33aInG2TDC

He is the first foal from Group I placed import Beat the Benchmark (USA), a half-sister by Speightstown to stakes-winner Abraham.
Hafey is the fifth two year-old winner this season for I Am Invincible with those winners including three stakes-winners – Cythera, Queen of the Ball and Ebhaar.
At Riverside Stables, Yarraman Park got a good result with the I Am Invincible colt from Pierro Moss selling for $480,000 to Baystone Farm to be the third highest priced yearling sold on Day 1.
An unraced Pierro daughter of stakes-winner Upon the Rock, Pierro Moss has another colt to follow by I Am Invincible and was covered last spring by his son Hellbent.
