Hong Kong, June 3 –Four year-old Magic Albert gelding Marchinski was among the best three year-old sprinters in Sydney last season and is now hitting top form in Hong Kong where he posted his second win at Happy Valley overnight in the Class One sprint over 1200 metres under his new name of Vital Flyer.

Eased back from an outside draw by veteran South African rider Jeff Lloyd, Vital Flyer was never closer than three wide and made his finishing run down the middle of the track, avoiding some severe interference suffered by runners closer to the fence.

He surged to the line to win by nearly two lengths in a dominant win for trainer Michael Chang.

Vital Flyer/Marchinski was bred by his former trainer Tracey Bartley and fetched $125,000 when put through the 2007 Inglis Christmas Thoroughbred Sale at which he was the top priced offering.

He now has the overall record of five wins and six placings from 19 starts.

Marchinski raced for a big group of owners in Australia, before being sold privately last year to Hong Kong and is a half-brother to stakes-winner Shepishir being from the good producer Elishir, a half-sister to another smart stakes-winner in Spy Zaim.

Elishir has been a regular visitor to Magic Albert and her yearling colt, the full brother to Vital Flyer, made $120,000 at the 2010 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale when consigned by Yarraman.

There is also a two year-old full sister called Marchinella that has won two of three starts for Tracey Bartley and the mare is now back in foal again to Magic Albert, who will stand this spring at a fee of $13,750.
