Hong Kong, February 13 – Making it three wins from five starts at Sha Tin in Hong Kong on Tuesday was the exciting Danny Shum trained sprinter Little Cow, a $240,000 purchase for Magus Equine from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2010 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale.
A four year-old son of Holy Roman Emperor (IRE), Little Cow bounced back to his best after two recent second placings, settling just off the pace for Zac Purton and charging to the line.
He took the Class Three event over 1000 metres by a length and a quarter in a blistering 56.36 seconds.
Little Cow was bred by Rheinwood Pastoral and is a half-brother to stakes-winner Insistence being one of five winners from the good producer Opportune.
The current yearling from Opportune is a colt by Magic Albert that was sold by Rheinwood for $200,000 at the recent Magic Millions Yearling Sale to David Raphael acting on behalf of a syndicate of Hong Kong based investors.
Opportune produced a filly by Yarraman Park’s exciting young sire Hinchinbrook last spring and is now back in foal to the young son of Fastnet Rock.
