Sydney, January 26 – The winning run of yearlings sold by Yarraman Park continued at Randwick on Australia Day with the Les Bridge trained Catbird filly Vinyasa saluting for the first time.
Resuming from a spell and tuned up with a couple of recent barrier trials, Vinyasa overpowered her rivals with a strong finishing burst to win the 1100 metre restricted event for fillies and mares by half a length.
Vinyasa was purchased by owner Jocelyn May for $125,000 from the Yarraman draft at the 2008 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
Bred by Yarraman Park, Vinyasa is from outstanding producer Military Call, who has had six to race all winners led by Group Two placed Magic Jet and smart galloper Morning Colours, a winner of eight races and nearly $150,000.
Military Call has no yearling this year but did leave a colt by Snitzel last spring and was then covered by Dane Shadow.
