Brisbane, June 30 – The Class Four event at Doomben last Friday was won in good style by the Choisir colt Simplest, a $100,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud.
Now trained at Eagle Farm by Barry Baldwin having been sold by his previous owner Lloyd Williams. Simplest has been in great form since moving to Queensland where he has won three of his last five starts.
Stakes-placed as a two year-old, Simplest has now won four races in all and placed a further five times winning $73,700 in prizemoney.
Bred by the Dufficy brothers and offered for sale by Yarraman Park as agent, Simplest is a half-brother to stakes-winner Given being the seventh foal of the Covetous mare Mad Desire.
A metropolitan winner up to 1400 metres, Mad Desire is a half-sister to Group Three winners Alert Me and Techniques, being from the family of Group One winning sprinters With Me and Accomplice.
Mad Desire has done a good job at stud, her current two year-old Infatuation ($250,000 Magic Millions colt by Encosta de Lago) is also a winner having scored at his second start for the David Hayes stable at Sandown on June 4.
