Sydney, March 25 – Smart Magic Albert three year-old Al Be Nimble produced an outstanding effort at Rosehill on Saturday when beaten a short neck in the Listed STC Darby Munro Quality.
Settled back in the field with cover in stark contrast to his previous start when he over-raced and dropped out, Al Be Nimble found plenty in the run home beating all but Slow Waltz to become the sixth Black Type performer for Magic Albert this season.
Now trained by Gwenda Markwell at Kembla having transferred down from Queensland following a runaway maiden win last November, Al Be Nimble has a win and two seconds on his resume and earnings of $49,500.
Retained to race by his breeder, Al Be Nimble is the second living foal of the imported Danehill mare Nimble (IRE), a winner at 1600 metres in Italy.
Nimble (IRE) was among 180 mares covered by Magic Albert at Yarraman Park last spring at a fee of $11,000.
