The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable produced an interesting debut winner at Kilmore on Friday with the half-sister by I Am Invincible to Golden Slipper winner Farnan breaking the ice first time out.
Three-year-old filly Cordina was not sighted at two, but won her only two previous trials in Sydney in January and February before being sent south to make her debut.
Ridden by Blake Shinn and sent out favourite, Cordina showed her class when drawing clear for a comfortable two-and-a-half-length win in the 1112m maiden.

“She was very foolproof as you would expect from the team and won as she liked, so she has a nice future,” Shinn said.
“She enjoyed that, it was like a track gallop for her and she is destined for better things.”
Cordina is a homebred for Phoenix Thoroughbreds and is a half-sister to Champion 2YO Colt and now leading first-season sire Farnan as well as stakes-winner Sandbar being the fourth winner from four foals to race from Tallow, a G3-winning daughter of Street Cry (IRE).
Cordina keeps the winning run going for I Am Invincible who had a stakes treble last Saturday with Vinrock, Commemorative and Enriched followed by a metro double at Randwick on Thursday with Written in Code and Happy Bellie.
