New Zealand, July 28 – Promising Magic Albert filly Orbity made it four straight wins when she scored a commanding victory in the Listed Ryder Stakes at Awapuni in New Zealand on Saturday.

Prepared at Cambridge by Murray Baker, Orbity was placed at her first four starts earlier in the year but has been on an upward spiral since the end of May when she broke her maiden.

Three quick wins have followed since then culminating in her first Black Type success.

Ridden forward from a wide gate by Matt Cameron, Orbity dashed away down the running to win the 1200 metre sprint by three and a half lengths in very heavy conditions.

“She was a little bit weak early on but she’s gone ahead in leaps and bounds,” Cameron said.

“She jumps and puts herself in the races and finishes off.”

Orbity was bought back by her breeders for just $15,000 at the NZB Festival Yearling Sale when consigned by Highden Stud and is the first stakes-winner for Jetball mare Jane Jetson.

Despite a lack of Black Type in her first three dams, Jane Jetson has been a good producer leaving five winners from six to race and in addition to Orbity has also left stakes-placed Meet George.

Orbity is the 17th stakes-winner for Magic Albert, who has sired over 100 winners in Australia this season and stands at Yarraman Park at a fee of $19,250.
