Adelaide, January 12 – Yarraman Park’s ill-fated sire Catbird has hit a purple patch over the last few weeks and added another juvenile winner to his tally when the Mark Kavanagh trained colt Catapulted scored at Morphettville on Saturday.

Having his first race start, Catapulted led for home in the 1050 metre open juvenile event and held off all challengers, digging deep to win by a nose in a driving finish.

Catapulted was purchased by Kavanagh for $90,000 at the 2007 Magic Millions Yearling Sale in Adelaide and runs for a large group of owners.

Future plans for Catapulted center around a tilt at the $400,000 Magic Millions Adelaide Two Year Old Classic in March.

Offered for sale by leading South Australian stud farm Mill Park and bred by them in partnership with Bob and Helen Dinham, Catapulted is the second foal of the Umatilla mare Siren Miss, a winning sister to stakes-winner Umatune.

Catbird has been awash in winners over the last week with Catapulted following hot on the heels of exciting two year-old filly Burgeis, an eye catching winner at Moonee Valley on Friday night.
