September 12 – One of the more unusual foals born in Australia this spring is the first Australian bred youngster by outstanding European stallion Dansili, best known as the sire of star performers Rail Link, Passage of Time, Proviso, Price Tag, Sense Of Joy, Zambezi Sun and this year’s exciting two year-old Shaweel.
Conceived to Southern Hemisphere time, this beautiful bay filly is the first foal of the Rahy mare Mizzle (USA), who was bought off the track at the 2007 Tattersalls July Sale.
Placed from a handful of starts, Mizzle is a daughter of champion French two year-old filly Loving Claim.
Dansili is regarded as one of the very best sons of Danehill in the Northern Hemisphere and commands a fee of 75,000 pounds at Juddmonte Farm.
There are a small number of mares in Australia due to foal to Dansili to Southern Hemisphere time this spring, but this filly is his first, having been foaled at the quarantine station on August 11.
Both mare and foal are now safely back at Yarraman, Mizzle having been covered by Blue Diamond winner Nadeem earlier in the week.
