Melbourne, August 20 – The Blue Sky Thoroughbreds Filly Fund enjoyed a trip to the winner’s circle last Friday with first starter Blink scoring easily at Geelong.
The Danny O’Brien trained Blink jumped well and was always up on the pace before dashing clear at the top of the straight to win the 1000 metre three year-old maiden by a length and a half in a stylish performance.
A $90,000 purchase from the Magic Millions Yearling Sale from the draft of Yarraman Park, Blink runs in the distinctive light blue and white colours of Blue Sky Thoroughbreds and is a part of their 2009 Filly Fund as is recent winner Salivate.
Bred by Yarraman Park, Blink is by Golden Slipper winner Stratum and is the first foal of Group Two winning Al Akbar mare Bridie Belle (NZ), who comes from the family of Group One winning miler Penny Edition.
She had a yearling full brother to Blink sell at Magic Millions this year for $75,000 to Dynamic Syndications and is due to foal to Hard Spun (USA) this spring..
