Brisbane, March 21 –Magic Albert featured on Saturday with a metropolitan double at Eagle Farm in Brisbane with wins for Margy Magic and promising filly Plain Magic.
The Kelly Schweida trained filly Plain Magic broke her maiden with an easy win at Doomben on March 4 and had no trouble handling the rise in grade to Saturday company as she strode away to win the $50,000 event for open class three year-olds over 1200 metres by a length.
With two wins and two seconds from four starts and prizemoney of $45,650, Plain Magic looks to be a filly on the up.
Plain Magic runs in the ownership of Racetree proprietor Kevin Dixon and was purchased for $19,000 from the draft of Sellwood Holdings at the 2007 Magic Millions Premier Yearling Sale.
She is a full sister to another handy winner in Mistry being from the Forest Glow (USA) mare Glow Misty for Me, a daughter of stakes-placed Misty Power from a very fast running female family.
Earlier in the day the Alicia Willick trained five year-old gelding Margy Magic won the restricted event over 1400 metres taking his overall record to five wins and six placings from 18 starts with prizemoney in excess of $100,000.
Retained to race by his breeder, Margy Magic is one of three winners from the Hurricane Sky mare Monsoon Margaret from the family of US Group One winner Daily Busy and local stakes-winners Shadowy Outline and Cross Border.
