Melbourne, September 26 – Lee Freedman has unleashed a string of promising maiden winners in the last month or two and produced another at Sale on Thursday when the 1400 metre maiden went to Redoute’s Choice colt Grecian Choice, a $625,000 purchase from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2007 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
Second at his two previous starts, Grecian Choice appreciated a step up to 1400 metres and the Katsumi Yoshida owned colt was able to race on the pace and score by a long head.
A full brother to metropolitan winner Andrology, Grecian Choice is from the Bellotto (USA) mare Aphrodite, a full sister to Group Three winner Seto Flowerian and half-sister to stakes-winners Presina and The Golden Dane.
It’s a solid Black Type family also featuring Adelaide based stakes-winners Brindabella and Lawson’s Storm, not to mention the Japanese stakes-winner Fusaichi Junk.
