Sydney, August 29 – Highly rated Redoute’s Choice colt Get Square broke his maiden at Randwick on Tuesday, providing a terrific result for Yarraman Park as he was the second highest priced yearling sold by the stud in 2005.

Prepared by John O’Shea for a syndicate of high profile bloodstock investors, Get Square traveled deep throughout and chimed in with a well-timed run that saw him hold off the determined finish of Patriotism to win by a long head.

Get Square was having his second race start after a debut second back in April and to win first up off a break over 1400 metres was an outstanding performance that could easily see him measure up to better company this spring.

Get Square was offered for sale at the 2005 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale by Yarraman Park Stud as agent for his breeder and fetched $500,000 to the bid of Badgers Bloodstock.

He is the first foal of the Thunder Gulch mare Let’s Get Even (USA), a half-sister to stakes-placed Immerse, the dam of American Group One winner Stephen Got Even.
