The 2016 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale proved a great success for Yarraman Park with 13 yearlings selling in Session I for a total of $4,570,000 highlighted by the history making $1million Hinchinbrook colt from Al’s Magic Miss. He has the honour of being the first million dollar yearling for his top class young sire Hinchinbrook, who finished as the third leading sire by average behind only Frankel and Redoute’s Choice. Hinchinbrook had three yearlings average $440,000, returning a staggering 26.7 times service fee. His barn-mate I Am Invincible was also a big winner in terms of return on service fee with six yearlings averaging $219,167 which was nearly 20 times his 2013 fee of $11,000. The two best results for I Am Invincible came with a filly from Andromache that made $320,000 for Yarraman Park when bought by BBA Ireland and a colt from Savannah’s Choice that made the same money for Victoria Park when secured by Spendthrift Australia. Yarraman also produced the most successful pinhook result of the sale when the Medaglia D’Oro (USA) colt from Kiss the Sun made $875,000 to the bid of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum. The colt was pinhooked by US based investor Roderic Wachman, who purchased the youngster for $230,000 at the Inglis Select Weanling Sale last year from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft. He entrusted him to us to be grown out and prepared for sale with happy results all round. Yarraman Park also sold six yearlings in Session II for a total of $1million including the session topper, a colt by Street Cry (IRE) from Damah Lady that made $300,000. The half-brother to Group I winner Luckygray was purchased by Magus Equine. We congratulate all successful purchasers and wish everyone the best of luck going forward.
