June 3 – The Group I Irish 1,000 Guineas was won recently at The Curragh by progressive filly Just the Judge, whose young sire Lawman goes from strength to strength, his success boding well for the only Australian based son of his sire Invincible Spirit in Yarraman Park based I Am Invincible.

Second to Sky Lantern in the Group I English 1,000 Guineas, the Charles Hills trained filly improved on that performance to take the one mile feature by more than a length, her overall record now four wins and a second from five starts.

A 50,000 euro purchase from the Goffs Yearling Sale, Just the Judge carried the burgundy and gold of Qatar Racing Limited, the partnership between Sheikh Fahad and his brothers, and runs in partnership with the Sangster family.

Her victory marked the first serious return on the millions recently invested by Sheikh Fahad on bloodstock right around the world.

Just the Judge is from Rainbow Quest mare Faraday Light, a half-sister to Group II winner High Heeled from another Group II winner in Uncharted Haven.

She is the third Group I winner for Lawman, who has made a bright start to his stud career and stands at Ballylinch Stud at a fee of 20,000 euros.

A brilliant Group III winning sprinter, I Am Invincible has been extremely popular at Yarraman Park and his first yearlings have greatly impressed buyers selling for up to $160,000, representing a great return on his $11,000 service fee.
