Adelaide, April 13 – The Group Three SAJC The Jansz Stakes at Morphettville on Saturday was won by Snitzel’s full sister Viennese, a $1.4 million purchase from the draft of Yarraman Park at the 2007 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
In the history books as the most expensive filly ever sold at the Conrad Jupiters Magic Millions Yearling Sale, the Lee Freedman trained filly showed a good turn of foot to win the 1200 metre event by the best part of two lengths.
Secured by John Ferguson Bloodstock for Darley Australia, Viennese has done a terrific job in winning two races and placing twice from just five starts and as a Group Three winning full sister to a Group One winning young sire like Snitzel has proven to be worth every penny.
Foaled and raised at Yarraman Park, Viennese was bred by Francios Naude and is by Redoute’s Choice from his grand producing mare Snippets’ Lass, who sadly passed away last spring after foaling a colt by Fastnet Rock, who has progressed nicely in the care of his adoptive nanny.
Yarraman Park will present an outstanding draft of 23 youngsters at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale starting on Sunday April 20.
