Sydney, September 5 – Lightly raced Magic Albert five year-old Duke Albert racked up a winning hat-trick when saluting at Canterbury on Wednesday for South Coast based trainer Terry Robinson.
Coming to town off back to back wins at Kembla, Duke Albert handled the class rise in surging home to win the 1100 metre dash by half a neck and is unbeaten this preparation.
Retained to race by his breeder John Starr, Duke Albert has the consistent record of four wins and five placings from 11 starts with prizemoney topping $75,000.
Duke Albert is a half-brother to Group II winner Nakaaya being from Duchess Talaria, a half-sister to the dam of Group I winner Royal Purler and grand-daughter of Group I winner Princess Talaria.
He is another progressive winner for Yarraman Park based Magic Albert, who has sired the winners of over $23 million in prizemoney highlighted by 17 stakes-winners including four Group I winners.
Magic Albert stands at a fee of $19,250 this spring.
