– Yarraman Park’s top class young sire Hinchinbrook was close to Group I success on Saturday with his star colt Press Statement finishing a brave third to Winx and Kermadec in the Group I ATC George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill, but received nice consolation with talented Perth two year-old Whispering Brook taking out the Group III WATC Gimcrack Stakes at Ascot. The Simon Miller trained filly made it three wins in succession when leading throughout to win the 1100 metre scamper by a long neck as favourite. With three wins on the board from three starts and prizemoney of $198,600, Whispering Brook has further stakes goals on the agenda with the Group II WATC Karrakatta Plate looming large on the horizon. A $45,000 Magic Millions National Weanling purchase from the Hillside Thoroughbreds draft for Aquanita Racing, Whispering Brook is the second winner for Artful Whisper (USA), a half-sister to stakes-winner High Maintenance. She is one of four stakes-winners for Hinchinbrook joining Press Statement, Samara Dancer and Flippant.
