Brisbane, November 7 – Magic Albert produced a super impressive debut winner at Doomben on Tuesday when three-year old gelding Al Be Nimble blitzed his rivals to win the 1110 maiden by a conservative six lengths.
Prepared by Dwayne Schmidt, the chestnut gelding started a hot favourite on the strength of a brilliant barrier trial win last month and ran right up to that form in coasting to an easy victory.
Retained to race by his breeder, Al Be Nimble is the second living foal of the imported Danehill mare Nimble (IRE), a winner at 1600 metres in Italy.
Magic Albert now has some 23 individual winners overall to his credit highlighted by stakes horses Alberto, Magic Jet, Magic Cape and Maritess.
