Ireland, December 30 – Green Desert sire Invincible Spirit (IRE), who shuttled to Australia for a couple of seasons leaving dual Group I winning filly Yosei, has broken the world record for number of juvenile winners in a season.
The Group I winning sprinter set the new mark with42 individual winners, bettering the previous best of 39 shared by US based sires Chapel Royal and Wildcat Heir.
Invincible Spirit stands at the Irish National Stud with Stallion Nominations, Julie Lynch announcing the achievement.
"Naturally I have had extremely limited access to information on the stallion since going on Christmas leave, and only realised the new record-breaking feat on Dec. 26, scanning a list of winners and races which I got my hands on,” Lynch told TDN.
Among Invincible Spirit’s slew of winners are the Group I winning filly Hooray and Group II winning colt Zebedee as well as stakes-winners Al Aasifh, Temps au Temps
Yarraman Park is standing the only son of Invincible Spirit at stud in Australia in brilliant sprinter I Am Invincible, who was well received by breeders this spring standing his debut season at a fee of $11,000.
