Brilliantly fast I Am Invincible filly Houtzen rocketed into favouritism for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic next Saturday with a scintillating win at the Gold Coast on Saturday. Prepared by Toby Edmonds and ridden by Jeff Lloyd, Houtzen led throughout from gate three to bolt away and win the 1100 metre scamper by four and a half lengths eased down. Even throttled down, she still smashed the class record proving a class above her hapless rivals and has now won each of her two starts in spectacular fashion. Edmonds said he would wait until Sunday morning before declaring Houtzen a definite contender for the $2 million feature next Saturday. “We will make certain she eats up and that everything is right. But if that is OK she will give us a great chance in the Classic,” said Edmonds, who was the original trainer of her sire I Am Invincible. “She had to stand in the barriers a while after another runner played up but she is a professional filly.” A $105,000 Magic Millions purchase for her trainer from the Yarraman Park draft, Houtzen is the first winner from Reset mare Set to Unleash, whose dam is a half-sister to globe-trotting Champion 3YO Filly Sun Classique. Yarraman Park are in the happy position of having sold the top three horses in the market for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic next week with From Within and Invincible Star following Houtzen in the latest market. From Within (2f Not a Single Doubt x Zimaretto) was bought for $360,000 and Invincible Star (2f I Am Invincible x Romany Flyer) for $200,000. Yarraman Park will present another stunning draft for the 2017 Magic Millions featuring 25 lots, 12 of them by I Am Invincible. Click here to see them.
