Annabel and Rob Archibald will have a runner in the $5 million G1 ATC Golden Slipper after their talented I Am Invincible filly Chayan burst into contention with a dominant win in the $300,000 G2 ATC Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.
Second on debut in the G2 MRC Blue Diamond Prelude and then seventh to the same filly in the G1 MRC Blue Diamond Stakes when she endured a tough run from a wide gate, Chayan found conditions to suit in her first Sydney run.

Ridden by James McDonald, Chayan charged into contention with a furlong to run and got away from race favourite Agrarian Girl to win by three lengths.
“She had no luck from the draw in the Blue Diamond, she was five-wide all the way. So, to come here today and win a G2 is very satisfying,” said Annabel Archibald.
“We thought there would be a bit of speed, and James said he just wanted to blend in and find some cover. I was happy when he got in, and she was very strong late. It was a big win.”
With $277,000 in the bank from her first three starts, Chayan will head next to the Golden Slipper in two weeks.
“We won this race with Learning to Fly a couple of years ago, and that ended up a disaster (fell in the Golden Slipper),” she recalled.
“She had a tough run in the Blue Diamond and a trip in between, so that was my only concern, but she is very exciting.”

A $250,000 Magic Millions purchase from Longwood Thoroughbred Farm for Eric Koh/Falcon Racing, Chayan is the first Stakes winner among four winners from four foals to race out of Group-winning Snitzel mare Lubiton.
Lubiton was on-sold at the 2024 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale where she was picked up by WA-based Ridgeport Holdings for $400,000 in foal to Zoustar.
The result of that mating was a filly that topped the recent Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale when selling to Sheamus Mills Bloodstock for $525,000.
Lubiton was covered again last spring by I Am Invincible after missing to Brave Smash (Jpn).
Chayan is the 123rd Stakes winner for Yarraman Park’s champion sire I Am Invincible.
