A half-sister to Magic Millions 2YO Classic contender Zelady’s Night Out, talented I Am Invincible mare I Am Zelady claimed a huge prize when taking out the $1million Magic Millions Fillies and Mares at the Gold Coast on Saturday over 1300 metres. The Joe Pride trained mare was given a textbook ride from jockey Tim Clarke to land the lucrative feature by two lengths ahead of race favourite Private Secretary and Tina Melina. Pride was thrilled with the win indicated the four-year-old would now be aimed at Black Type races during The Championships in Sydney. “It was a fantastic result and a great ride from Tim and fantastic support from connections to give me this mare,” Pride said. “She’s got a lovely turn of foot on her and that 1300m was perfect for her today. “She’s a lovely mare and the autumn carnival beckons. “I wouldn’t be giving her another run before then because she’s a nice mare and she’ll win group races.” An $80,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman Park draft, I Am Zelady has won three races and placed six times from 10 starts earning in excess of $730,000 in prizemoney. A half-sister to Group III winners Zelady’s Night Out and Excites Zelady, I Am Zelady was bred by Jilly Henderson and is from ill-fated Zeditave mare Zelady, a grand-daughter of Group II winner Bound to Honour.
