I Am Invincible four-year-old Invincible Shield made a rapid rise through the grades in Brisbane last year for Tony Gollan from May through until July reeling off four consecutive wins and he posted his first Hong Kong victory at Sha Tin on Sunday.
Sold to Hong Kong, Invincible Shield is now trained by Francis Lui and was ridden by visiting UK jockey Tommy Marquand, who brought him home with a well-timed run to snatch the win at his second start in Hong Kong in the Class 3 sprint over 1200m.

Invincible Shield was a $480,000 Inglis Classic purchase from Yarraman Park for Baystone Farm and is a full brother to G2-placed Tardelli from unraced Pierro mare Pierro Moss, a daughter of stakes-winner Upon The Rock.
He is closely related I Am Invincible’s Group and stakes-winning fillies Charm Stone and Najmaty and comes from the family of G1 winners Criterion and Comin’ Through.
Yarraman Park sold a Hellbent filly from Pierro Moss at Magic Millions this year for $200,000 to Doyle Racing/Mitchell Bloodstock (FBAA) and she produced a colt by Hellbent last spring, but unfortunately then missed to I Am Invincible.
