Melbourne, October 12 – With five placings from five starts, Sharnee Rose has seen an awful lot of the back end of Atlantic Jewel this spring, but her turn in the winner’s circle must come.

Trained by Matt Ellerton and Simon Zahra for Barry and Midge Griffiths, Sharnee Rose ran her usual honest race at Caulfield on Wednesday to finish a gallant third to Atlantic Jewel and Mosheen in the Group I MRC Thousand Guineas.

A $40,000 purchase from the Yarraman Pak draft during Session II at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Sharnee Rose was bred by Shadwell Australia and foaled and raised at Yarraman.

She is by Nadeem from Farasha, a half-sister by Jeune (GB) to the dam of Group I winner Rewaaya from the family of Snippets and Forensics.
