Gold Coast, January 11 – The very last consignment of Magic Millions yearlings by ill-fated Golden Slipper winner Catbird proved popular with Yarraman Park providing his top seller at $220,000.
A half-sister to this season’s stakes-placed two year-old Carlton Forward, the filly from Carlton Ace generated plenty of interest and was eventually knocked down to James Bester Bloodstock.
Yarraman Park’s full brother to stakes-placed Star Cat from stakes-winner Magdalena, provided Catbird with his top priced colt this year when he made $150,000 to the bid of Alan Acton.
Catbird had 13 yearlings average $86,346, his stock sure to be in keen demand at the upcoming Inglis Classic Yearling Sale where he has 19 catalogued for sale.
