Sydney, October 20 –Promising Catbird gelding Letmeentertainyou demolished a Class One field at Canterbury on Friday to win by a conservative two and a half lengths.
Ridden by Glen Boss for John O’Shea, the handsome bay settled off the pace on the fence before switching around runners on straightening to unleash a paralyzing burst.
Letmeentertainyou sailed to the front and was eased down on the line to win the 1100 metre event as he liked, having just his third start and first run back from a 33 week spell.
A $260,000 purchase from the draft of Edinglassie Stud at the 2005 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Letmentertainyou was the most expensive yearling sired by Catbird in 2005 and one of four yearlings by the sire that fetched over $200,000 in that year – the others being Group Two winner Diego Garcia, stakes-winner Harb and Group Two placed Green Birdie who is on track for a start in the Group One VRC Ascot Vale Stakes.
Letmeentertainyou is the third foal of the Royal Academy (USA) mare News Academy, a half-sister to brilliant juvenile stakes-winner Catnipped, winner of the 1998 Magic Millions Two Year Old Classic.
