Brisbane, June 8 – Classy Magic Albert filly Plain Magic bounced back to her best form to win the open three year-old event at Doomben on Monday by more than a length.
Placed in the Listed QTC Australia Day Stakes and then midfield when beaten just over three lengths in the Group Three BTC Classic, the Kelly Shweida trained filly has been very consistent boasting an overall record of three wins and three placings from eight starts with prizemoney in excess of $112,000.
Plain Magic runs in the ownership of Racetree proprietor Kevin Dixon and was purchased for $19,000 from the draft of Sellwood Holdings at the 2007 Magic Millions Premier Yearling Sale.
She is a full sister to another handy winner in Mistry being from the Forest Glow (USA) mare Glow Misty For Me, a daughter of stakes-placed Misty Power from a very fast running female family.
Magic Albert also provided the juvenile winner at the Gold Coast on Saturday with two year-old filly Magic Symphony leading all the way to win the 1200 metre maiden by more than a length at her second race start.
Trained by Bruce Hill, Magic Symphony is from the Western Symphony (USA) mare Morning Symphony, who comes from the family of WA based stakes-winners Timeless Action and Famous Roman.
Magic Albert is the sire of some 55 Australian winners this season with progeny earnings a whisker shy of $2million.
