June 21 – Yarraman Park based Magic Albert enjoyed a two state metropolitan double on Saturday with Albert the Fat making it back-to-back wins at Eagle Farm and Something Anything scoring at Rosehill.

Improving colt Albert the Fat took his record to five wins from eight starts when romping clear to win the open three year-old event over 1200 metres by the best part of two lengths.

Trained by Dale Sutton from his base at Wadham Park, Albert the Fat has now won $114,500 in prizemoney for his large group of ten owners.

A $40,000 purchase for Wadham Park from the draft of Rheinwood Pastoral during Session Five at the 2006 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, Albert the Fat is from the Bureaucracy mare Alemar, a full sister to stakes-placed Mastery.

In Sydney, the Gary Portelli trained Something Anything broke back into the winners list after some consistent recent runs, kicking clear to take the 1400 metre welter by a length and a half.

With four wins and 11 placings from 28 starts, Something Anything has been a great money-spinner for connections racking up earnings of $343,170.

A $40,000 purchase from the draft of Yarraman Park at the 2005 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Something Anything is the sixth foal of the Kala Dancer (GB) mare Maline, a three-quarter sister-in-blood to We’re Dancing and half-sister to Group Three winner Allez Glen.

Magic Albert is the sire of some 40 winners this season with progeny earnings in excess of $1.2 million and having covered better books of mares in the last two years his overall results can only improve.
