Melbourne, August 28 – The Robert Smerdon trained Magic Albert filly Tai Tai Tess made it a winning hat-trick when she bolted away to win easily at Sandown in Sunday.

She broke her maiden with a facile victory on the Geelong Synthetic track last month and then returned to the same venue to win again on August 21 and proved just as effective on the grass when dashing away to take the Ratings 68 event by more than three lengths.

Tai Tai Tess was purchased by her trainer for $31,000 from the Racetree draft during Session Five at Magic Millions and is the third winner from the Last Tycoon (IRE) mare Tycoon Tess, a half-sister to Group II winner Delta Form and daughter of dual Group I winner Arborea.

With 14 Australian winners on the board since August 1, Magic Albert is in good company with the only stallions to sire more winners being Commands, Redoute’s Choice, Fastnet Rock, Encosta de Lago and Choisir, whose service fees are considerably more than the $16,500 breeders will pay for their mares to visit Magic Albert this spring.
