Sydney, October 6 – Magic Albert’s talented three-year old son Magic Jet arrives back in Sydney today for a crack at the Group One AJC Spring Champion Stakes at Royal Randwick on Saturday and his trainer Stephen Theodore is hoping for better luck than at his last start.
Theodore was forced to endure the disappointment of having a Group Two win snatched away in the stewards room after the colt was relegated into second place at Moonee Valley last week in the MVRC Stutt Stakes.
“We’ve just tried to put it in the past and hopefully we’ll get the opportunity to make amends on Saturday,” Theodore told Racing & Sports.
“The positive is the horse doesn’t know the race was taken off him. He’s been strutting around all week thinking he did his job right so we’ve been looking to him for a bit of confidence.”
Win, lose or draw Magic Jet will head to the paddock after this assignment with a tilt at the Group One AJC Australian Derby foremost in the minds of connections as an autumn goal.
