Tasmania, June 13 – Smart Magic Albert two year-old I Am Magic was stakes-placed last preparation and posted his first win at Hobart on Sunday providing a timely update for his half-brother by Trotamondo (Chi), who will be offered by Yarraman Park at the upcoming 2010 Inglis Australian Select Weanling Sale.

Bought privately from the paddock at Yarraman by successful syndicator Joe O’Neill of Prime Thoroughbreds, I Am Magic was sent out favourite and took the 1100 metre open juvenile event by the best part of a length, his overall record a handy win and three placings from just six starts.

I Am Magic is the first foal of the Brahms (USA) mare Miss Schumann, a daughter of smart Adelaide stakes-winner Dallaeni.

Miss Schumann is the dam of Lot 445, a bay colt from the first crop of Chilean Horse of the Year and three-time Group One winner Trotamondo (Chi), who has been at Yarraman Park for the past two seasons and stands this spring at a fee of $11,000.

A son of accomplished sire Hussonet (USA), Trotamondo has four weanlings in this sale to be offered by Yarraman, the others being: Lot 191, a colt from Rumbalara (GB); Lot 416, a colt from Lady Lexus; and Lot 470, a colt from Page Three Girl.
