Sydney, July 25 – Magic Albert has been running hot as the season draws to a close, his smart daughter Al’s Magic Miss resuming from a spell to score a stylish victory in the Rosebud Preview at Warwick Farm on Saturday.

A winner on debut at Randwick back in February, Al’s Magic Miss (pictured courtesy www.stevehart.com.au) was not disgraced in the elite juvenile company during the autumn finishing fourth in the Group II ATC Silver Slipper and Group III ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes.

Fresh from a break and appreciating the drop in grade to this easier assignment, Al’s Magic Miss found the line strongly to win the 1100 metre dash by the best part of a length.

“She came back in really good order,” said her trainer David Payne.

“I don’t know if she’s up to it (Golden Rose), so we’ll just keep her around the 1200m mark for now.”

Bred and offered for sale by Yarraman Park, Al’s Magic Miss was a $100,000 purchase from the 2010 Magic Millions Yearling Sale and is a half-sister to stakes-placed Carlton Forward from stakes-placed Bianconi (USA) mare Carlton Ace, a half-sister to juvenile stakes-winner Carton Spirit.

Al’s Magic Miss is one of 98 winners this season for Magic Albert, who will cover a full book this season at a fee of $16,500.
