Hong Kong, October 16 – Magic Albert featured at Happy Valley on Wednesday night when five year-old gelding Magi Joy scored over 1200 metres.

Ridden quietly in the early stages, the Peter Ho trained Magi Joy was brought home with a well timed run by champion jockey Olivier Doleuze, arriving in the nick of time to score by a neck.

Magi Joy has been with a number of trainers in Hong Kong since transferring from Australia following a good win at Doomben in June of 2006 and has now won three races overall.

Purchased by his original trainer Neil Strong for $38,000 from the draft of Craigow Stud at the 2005 Magic Millions Premier Yearling Sale, Magi Joy is the second foal of juvenile metropolitan winner La Tache, a daughter of the Storm Bird shuttle Mukaddamah (USA).

Magic Albert has had a good start to the season with some 20 winners in Australia since August 1 and as a Northern Dancer free son of Zeditave represents great value among the proven sires at a fee of $16,500.
