June 1 – Magic Albert’s tally of winners for the season continues to grow with the Patinack Farm owned two year-old filly Madeittothemoon the latest to salute after scoring a strong win at Gosford on Sunday.
Placed in town behind subsequent stakes-winners Horizons and Wanted early in the season, the Tim Murphy trained Madeittothemoon started a warm favourite in the 1000 metre maiden and made light work of her 58 kg in the heavy conditions to win by the best part of a length.
Purchased for $37,500 from the draft of Stratheden Stud at the 2008 Magic Millions Yearling Sale during Session Five, Madeittothemoon is from the Luskin Star mare Our Promise, a three-quarter sister-in-blood to brilliant stakes-winning juvenile Bold Promise, the dam of Group One winners Merlene and Miss Pennymoney.
Also winning for Magic Albert at Wyong last Thursday was the Denis Wilton owned and Paul Perry trained Our Corey, who made it six wins from 18 starts when taking out the Ratings 71 event over 1000 metres.
A winner of more than $80,000 in prizemoney, four year-old Our Corey is a half-brother to stakes-placed Sweet Chloe and is one of five winners from the good producing Rory’s Jester mare Sweet Rory.
Magic Albert has sired some 54 winners this season of $1.9 million in prizemoney and represents outstanding value as a proven outcross stallion at a fee of $13,750.
