Brisbane, December 8 – Classy Magic Albert sprinter Albert The Fat is set to make a return to the track with his scheduled comeback in the $220,000 Magic Millions Sprint over 1000 metres at the Gold Coast on January 9.

The Eden Petrie trained five year-old has been off the scene since finishing a good fourth in the Group Three Tatts Tramway Handicap at Randwick back in September.

Petrie was aiming at having the gelding back for the George Moore Stakes at Doomben last weekend but a minor injury has set him back.

“Time has been against us but he’s fine and will run first-up in the Magic Millions Sprint,” Petrie said.

“We’ll get through that and then assess whether we head south or put him away again and wait for the winter.”

Albert The Fat has won nine of 17 starts earning close to $270,000 in prizemoney. .
