Sydney, February 25 – Consistent Magic Albert mare Fabella broke through for her first metropolitan win when she saluted at Warwick Farm on Wednesday in the restricted fillies and mares event over 1100 metres.

A model of consistency for the Paul Perry stable, Fabella has not missed a place in five runs since resuming from a spell on December 31 and claimed her first metropolitan victory with a fast finishing burst to score by a long head.

Purchased by her trainer for a meagre $11,000 from the Yarraman Park draft at the 2005 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale, Fabella is a half-sister to Group Three winner Lorne Dancer being from the good producer Fabled (NZ).

What a good investment she’s been, given the big pedigree update in Lorne Dancer and her tidy race record of five wins and 11 placings from 29 starts with prizemoney of $85,570.

She is yet another good honest galloper by Magic Albert who is enjoying a terrific season with close to 40 winners including stakes-winners Something Anything and Marchinski, his seasonal earnings at $1.4 million.
