Sydney, April 22 – Smart three year-old Musaytir made it four wins from five starts this preparation when he cruised clear to score the easiest of wins in the Class Three event at the metropolitan meeting at Hawkesbury on Saturday.

The John O’Shea trained colt carried 58 kgs in winning the 1600 metre event by three lengths, leaving another handy type in Test Edition toiling in his wake.

A half-brother by King Charlemagne (USA) to champion filly Alinghi, Musaytir was purchased for $525,000 by Tim Stakemire (on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum) from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud at the 2005 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale,

The third living foal of glamour producer Oceanfast, Musaytir is the first of her foals to be born in the ownership of Yarraman Park Stud, who purchased the mare privately while she was in foal to his sire King Charlemagne (USA).

Her subsequent foal, a filly by Encosta de Lago set an Australian record price for a filly when she fetched $2.6 million at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale last year and already has Black Type racing as Perfect Persuasion.

The current yearling filly from Oceanfast, also by Encosta de Lago, made $1.4 million to the bid of Tim Stakemire, his boss no doubt impressed with the considerable potential of Musaytir.

Oceanfast produced a colt by Encosta d Lago last spring and is now in foal to Redoute’s Choice.
