Sunshine Coast, July 1 – Purchased from the Patinack Farm Reduction at the recent Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $380,000 by BBA Ireland, Encosta de Lago mare Kneeling has provided her new owners with an immediate returning winning at her first two starts since the sale.
Now trained by Peter Moody for the Yarraman Park Syndicate and his wife Sarah, Kneeling did best in a thrilling finish at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday to score by a nose over 1300 metres.
A stakes-winner at three in the Listed MVRC Crockett Stakes, Kneeling had been out of form before the sale, but has really blossomed since transferring into the care of Moody.
“She’s freshened up and is racing really well so the plan is to give her 10 days off, send her back down to Melbourne and hopefully chase a bit of Black Type before she retires to stud,” said Arthur Mitchell.
“She’s a lovely type of mare and was our top pick from the Patinack draft, so we have a booking lined up for her with Snitzel.”
Kneeling is the best of three winners from stakes-placed Sunday Silence mare Sunday Service, a half-sister to stakes-winner Express Power (also by Snitzel) from the family of champion sire Danehill and Caulfield Cup winner Diatribe.
