Classy mare and G1 winner Benedetta (Hellbent x Whatalovelyday) was named the SPORTSBET SA Thoroughbred Breeders HORSE OF THE YEAR on Saturday night.
In a close photo finish just like her SPORTSBET G1 Goodwood Handicap win, Benedetta finished fast to beat other G1 SA-bred winners, Attrition, Queman & Socks Nation with rising Hong Hong superstar and G1 placegetter Galaxy Patch in the finish also.
Benedetta is trained by Jason Warren, the five-year-old mare races in the black, orange and checked sash colours of the Eales family and has amassed $1,778,015 in prizemoney.
