Sydney, December 28 – Former outstanding racemare Magical Miss featured at Gosford on Tuesday when her three year-old daughter Sables broke her maiden for Darley and Peter Snowden.
A $300,000 purchase for Darley from the Inglis Easter draft of Yarraman Park, Sables relished the step up to 1600 metres finishing with a flourish to score a short head win in a competitive run to the line.
A daughter of Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (USA), Sables was bred by the Wyllie Group and is the third winner for dual Group I winner Magical Miss, who has had three foals to race and all have won led by ill-fated stakes-placed colt Weasley, who may well have gone on to win a stakes race if he had not gone to the big racecourse in the sky before his time.
Yarraman Park sold a Hussonet (USA) filly from Magical Miss at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale this year for $270,000, but the mare has no yearling for sales in 2011, although did produce a filly by More Than ready (USA) back in August
