New Zealand, September 8 – Promising Magic Albert filly Orbity made it five straight wins when she scored her second Black Type victory in the Listed Fordell O’Leary Stakes at Wanganui on Saturday.

Prepared at Cambridge by Murray Baker, Orbity was placed at her first four starts earlier in the year but has been on an upward spiral since the end of May when she broke her maiden.

Four quick wins have followed since then culminating in her first Black Type successes.

Sent forward to lead to by Matt Cameron, Orbity fought on strongly at the finish to take the 1200 metre sprint by half a length.

“We thought she was one of our best two-year-olds after she had won a trial at Paeroa,” said Andrew Forsman, who prepares Orbity with Murray Baker.

“She ran second to Ruud Awakening at her first start and we were pushing her to the Karaka Million, but the hard summer tracks got to her and she was too immature.”

Orbity was bought back by her breeders for just $15,000 at the NZB Festival Yearling Sale when consigned by Highden Stud and is the first stakes-winner for Jetball mare Jane Jetson.

Despite a lack of Black Type in her first three dams, Jane Jetson has been a good producer leaving five winners from six to race and in addition to Orbity has also left stakes-placed Meet George.

Orbity is one of 17 stakes-winners for Magic Albert, who stands at a fee of $19,250.
