Melbourne, March 23 – Talented four year-old mare Sharnee Rose posted her second win when surging home to win at Caulfield on Saturday at her first run back from a spell.
As a three year-old Sharnee Rose was matching strides with the best of her generation finishing third to Atlantic Jewel and Mosheen in the Group I MRC Thousand Guineas, so it’s nice to see her in the winner’s circle after so many frustrating placings in the past.
Trained by Matt Ellerton and Simon Zahra for Barry and Midge Griffiths, Sharnee Rose has the overall record of two wins and nine placings from 16 starts with prizemoney in excess of $210,000.
A $40,000 purchase from the Yarraman Park draft during Session II at the 2010 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, Sharnee Rose was bred by Shadwell Australia and foaled and raised at Yarraman.
By Blue Diamond winner Nadeem, she is one of three winners from Farasha, a half-sister by Jeune (GB) to the dam of Group I winner Rewaaya from the family of former leading sire Snippets and Golden Slipper winner Forensics.
Yarraman Park will present a top class draft of 24 for the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
