Sydney, February 8 – Talented Catbird mare Sequinella resumed from a spell with an exciting all the way win in the Ratings 86 event for fillies and mares over 1400 metres at Rosehill on Saturday.

Last seen when winning at Rosehill on November 15, the David Payne trained Sequinella was turned out in great order for her first up assignment and after leading throughout pulled out plenty in the run home to scored by the best part of a length.

Raced by the Neasham Hayes Syndicate, four year-old Sequinella has been a first rate money spinner for connections winning four races and placing eight times from 25 starts and earning $225,150 in prizemoney.

Purchased by David Payne at the 2006 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale for just $33,000, Sequinella was bred and offered for sale by Goodwood Farm.

Sequinella is the second foal of the Clay Hero mare Red Sequin, an unraced full sister to stakes-winner Czar Hero and half-sister to the dam of champion NZ two year-old Maroofity.

Ill-fated Golden Slipper winner Catbird has some 19 yearlings catalogued for the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale starting on Sunday afternoon.
