Brisbane, September 21 – Winning six races in succession is never easy, although Choisir four year-old Simplest made it look that way when he toyed with his rivals at Eagle Farm on Saturday before clearing out to post his sixth successive win by three and a half lengths.

Sent out a raging hot favourite in the open sprint over 1000 metres, the Barry Baldwin trained Simplest camped just off the pace and then skipped away for Brad Pengelly to score as he liked.

His win encouraged connections to consider a trip to Sydney and if Simplest comes through this run in good order he is likely to contest the Group Two AJC The Shorts at Randwick on October 4.

Originally a $100,000 Magic Millions purchase from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud, Simplest was previously trained in Victoria, having been sold by his previous owner Lloyd Williams.

Since transferring to Queensland, Simplest has been on fire winning his last five starts in succession, his overall record now eight wins and five placings from 17 starts with earnings of $195,300.

Bred by the Dufficy brothers and offered for sale by Yarraman Park as agent, Simplest is a half-brother to stakes-winner Given being the seventh foal of the Covetous mare Mad Desire.

A metropolitan winner up to 1400 metres, Mad Desire is a half-sister to Group Three winners Alert Me and Techniques, being from the family of Group One winning sprinters With Me and Accomplice.

Mad Desire has done a good job at stud, her current three year-old Infatuation ($250,000 Magic Millions colt by Encosta de Lago) is also a winner having scored at his second start for the David Hayes stable at Sandown on June 4.
