July 25 – With earnings of $966,810 in prizemoney, outstanding racemare Skyerush has been purchased by Yarraman Park and partners and will be retired to stud this spring.

“She was a top class mare and is a really lovely type, so will be a great addition to our broodmare band,” said Arthur Mitchell.

Trained throughout her career by Guy Walter, Skyerush won 11 races and placed 19 times from 45 starts with highlight wins coming in the Group II ATC Emancipation Stakes, which she won twice, and the Group III ATC Liverpool City Cup and Doncaster Prelude.

Skyerush was also second beaten a short neck to Pear Tart in the Group I Tattersalls Tiara in 2012 and was fourth in the same race this year at her last appearance.

She is the best performer for her sire Super Jet (USA) and comes from a sensational Black Type female family featuring Group I winners Midnight Fever and Rock Classic.

No decision has been made yet as to a sire for her first mating.
