Triple Crown Syndications had high hopes for Hellbent filly Hellenic Belle, who kicked off her career in tough company in the Group III ATC Magic Night Stakes when out of the placings, but dropped back in grade she found the winner’s circle on Friday.

Prepared by Annabel and Rob Archibald, Hellenic Belle showed nice ability at the trials, but did plenty wrong behind Pembrey when stepping out for the first time at Rosehill two weeks ago.

Drawn gate two for the Starmaker 2YO Handicap (1000m) at Muswellbrook, she enjoyed a good run in transit and was strong to the line beating race favourite Better Off Alone by half a length.

A $145,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale purchase for Triple Crown Syndication from the Attunga Stud draft, Hellenic Belle is a full sister to Group II placed Marokopa Falls and is the fourth winner from four foals to race from winning Ready’s Image (USA) mare Beside You.

Beside You was covered again last spring by Hellbent, who is enjoying a career best season on the track and had the Hong Kong Derby winner on Sunday with Invincible Ibis.

He has three yearlings for Inglis Easter and all are being offered by Yarraman Park, click to see them.
