Melbourne, April 11 – The three year-old maiden over 1100 metres at Geelong on Friday was won by a notable first starter in Royal Snippets, a half-sister to Group One winner Snitzel secured by Wadham Park for $775,000 from the draft of Yarraman Park at the 2006 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

The Dale Sutton trained filly settled in fourth place and then stretched out over the concluding stages to win by more than two lengths.

Bred by Francios Naude and foaled, raised and offered for sale by Yarraman Park, Royal Snippets is by Royal Academy (USA) from the good producing stakes-winner Snippets’ Lass, dam of Snitzel as well as stakes-placed Wiener and this season’s smart juvenile Viennese.

Royal Snippets was the second highest priced filly sold at Magic Millions in 2006 and has been given time to mature by the Wadham Park team who look set to gain from that decision.

Snippets’ Lass passed away last year and her last foal is a colt by Fastnet Rock.
